Flying Start on UK South Coast

Southampton Airport has joined the list of locations where ExxonMobil Aviation manages refuelling operations.

Previously the only site left in the UK where the British Airports Authority (BAA) still managed refuelling, ExxonMobil Aviation secured the refuelling contract and effective March 1, assumed fuel farm and into-plane operations.  ExxonMobil Aviation received the airport's refuelling vehicles as part of the contract. The existing BAA team has transferred to Redline Oil Services, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil.

"Prudent expansion of our airport network is among our top goals" said ExxonMobil Aviation operations manager Mike Kirk.  "We already knew Southampton was a good operation because we have been delivering product there, so we were really excited about getting this contract.  Now that we're also managing the refuelling side of the operation,  we're in a position to implement ExxonMobil Aviation best practices, which we believe will serve to enhance Southampton's performance".
